The modmail act

Bill Identifier: 20260201-1

Summary: Helps welcome new users into the community

Raw Contents:

As defined by the constitution, a citizen is any unbanned member of the subreddit. However, from personal experience I can attest that it is exceedingly difficult for new citizens to participate in public life, or even exercise their basic rights like voting, as so much information is scattered and gatekept (not to mention the sub rules and wiki are very outdated). This has been demonstrated by the low voter turnout.

To address this issue, I propose that our government enact as follows:

That when a new user joins the subreddit, they get an automatic message via modmail, which provides essential information on the subreddit, its structure and governance, as well as their constitutional rights and responsibilities. The modmail will include a link to the ARPD website, in order to access information about specifics like laws and individual citizens.

Within the automatic modmail will be a direct link to the voter registration form, provided so that it will be easier for a citizen to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
