§1 PurposeThe purpose of this bill is to establish a standardized system for assigning identifiers to bills and facilitating consistent voting procedures.
§2 DefinitionsFor the purposes of this bill:

  • **Bill:** Any proposed legislation submitted for consideration.
  • **Unique Bill Identifier (Bill ID):** A distinct identifier assigned to each bill upon proposition.

§3 Bill Identification
§3.1 Assignment of Bill IDAll bills must be assigned a Unique Bill Identifier at the time of proposition.
§3.2 Re-proposed or Amended BillsIf a bill is re-proposed, amended, or otherwise substantively modified, a new Unique Bill Identifier must be assigned.
§3.3 Format of Bill IDBill Identifiers must follow the format: `yyyy-mm-dd-x`, where:
  • `yyyy` represents the year of proposition (UTC).
  • `mm` represents the month of proposition (UTC).
  • `dd` represents the day of proposition (UTC).
  • `x` represents a sequential number starting at `0`, incremented for each bill proposed on the same day.

§3.4 Inclusion of Bill ID in PropositionsAll new bill propositions must include the assigned Bill ID either in the title or in the body of the proposition.
  • If a Bill ID is omitted at the time of submission, the proposer may:

  1. Post the Bill ID in the comments; or
  2. Use the date portion (`yyyy-mm-dd`) temporarily until the full identifier can be assigned.

§4 ImplementationThis bill shall take effect immediately upon passage.
