An Amendment to allow the Ombudsman to reject jokes, bad faith or non serious investigation requests while ensuring fairness and accountability.
Article I
Article 4.3 of the Ombudsman and Citizen Complaint Act shall be amended to read:
4.3: Any citizen may file an investigation request. The Ombudsman has a legal duty to review all requests. The Ombudsman may reject a request if it is a joke request, made in bad faith or non serious. Failure to properly review requests shall lead to Article 3.6 applying.
Article II
The following shall be added to Article 4:
4.10: A request may be rejected if:
i)It is clearly a joke or not meant seriously.
ii)It is made to spam.
iii)It asks for something unrelated to TeenGovernment.
Article III
The following shall be added to Article 4:
4.11: If the Ombudsman rejects a request, they must give a short and clear reason publicly in the Ombudsman discord server.
Article IV
The following shall be added to Article 4:
4.12: If a user believes their request was unfairly rejected, they may appeal to the Vice President. The Vice President may:
i)Agree with the rejection.
OR
ii)Order the Ombudsman to proceed with the investigation.
Article V
The following shall be added to Article 4:
4.13: If the Ombudsman rejects valid requests without proper reason or shows bias, it shall be considered a violation under Article 3.6 and may lead to removal.
