Proposition to amend Article III of Section I of the Constitution.

20260502-3 \\ ??? words \\ Passed \\ No summary

Article 3 reads as follows:
"None shall make law establishing religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, nor shall the rights of Conscience be infringed, provided that expressing such thoughts does not trouble the public order established by the law. However this does not apply to parties. No party with religious values that influence its policy may form."
I don't take issue with the majority of this, however I do with the last sentence. Religion is about values and, while I myself am not religious, I don't believe parties should be forbidden from expressing another form of their values and ideas unless such directly threaten the welfare of the people, which is already the standard at which individuals are held. I propose the amendment of Article 3 to this:
"None shall make law establishing religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, nor shall the rights of Conscience be infringed, provided that expressing such thoughts does not trouble the public order established by the law. This applies to both parties and individuals."
This amendment is more in line with Section I Article V which states that actions not directly harmful to society can not be forbidden by council.
