SLSR Legislation Thank you to Camel for helping us hash out ideas for this, as well as to Frein and everyone else who discussed it in the Discord. Seriously, I thank everyone who helped from the bottom of my heart, as this is something that's deeply personal and I've been wanting to do for a month now. Anyways, here goes: The Anti-Defamation Act 1. Defamation will be defined as false statements communicated to at least one person other than the victim that harm another person or people’s reputation. 2. A ban will be defined as the prohibition from participating in the sub and related discord servers except for court and prison. 3. The judiciary can decide on which punishment to give for an offence of defamation if the defendant is found liable, based on factors including the victim’s position and standing in the community, the nature of the defamation, the mode and extent of the publication, the possible effects of the false statements on the victim’s TG life, and the intent and behavior of the defendant. 4. If the defendant has already received a warning for committing defamation in the past, that will also be taken into account. 5. Along with a warning, punishments include, from least to most severe: probation with an apology, a 7 day ban, a 14 day ban, or a 28 day ban. 6. Subsequent offenses after a 28 day ban is issued are grounds for a permanent ban. 7. This act comes into effect once both it and the Probation Act are passed. \--- Thank you all once again, I'm genuinely glad from the bottom of my heart that I'm able to do this.
