SLSR Legislation
So, we're gonna try this again, but with the version I drafted this time. Thanks again to everyone in the SLSR. Now, here goes:
The Probation Act
- When a user is found guilty or liable of an offence breaking the law, if the court sees fit, they can issue a probation order to the user as an alternative to a ban.
- The probation order will detail things the receiver of the order must do along with a conditional discharge, including maintaining of peace and good behavior, coming to court when summoned, and reporting every 4 days to a probation officer to ensure compliance with regulations. Other orders and/or restrictions may also be added on a case-by-case basis.
- The probation order will list a length of time for which one must comply with these orders, with a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 2 months.
- the Moderator Enforcement Team will act as probation officers for this purpose, and the receiver of the probation order will be in regular contact with one of them.
- If one fails to comply with the regulations set out in the probation order, they can be tried and given a ban of length determined by the courts.
- This act comes into effect upon passage.
- This act is open to amendment from Council.

This one is slightly different, and I hope Council entertains it. Thanks!
