Overview: We find it necessary that the Courts have a leader they can look up to. The public also has not been in the loop on trials, and we rarely have rulings. We hope this amendment can push the Judicial Reforms further.
Article I: Appointment of the Chief Justice

I.I: The President may only appoint someone currently serving as an official Justice (Either Constitutional or regular)
I.II: The President shall not appoint an individual in whose case an obvious conflict of interest would occur, in the case of a shared party, they shall not be capable of nominating that individual.
I.III: The President must nominate a Chief Justice any time the position is empty, under the case of resignation, sickness, inability to serve, or impeachment, a new Chief Justice must be nominated.
I.IV: Once a Chief Justice is nominated, any individual may request a referendum for an overruling of the decision. This is to be held via the referendum minister, which shall last 48 hours, if a supermajority vote succeeds, the nominee fails to gain the position, and a new selection is made; if not, the candidate maintains their role and position.
I.V: In the case of the removal of Chief Justice, a new selection of Chief Justice must immediately occur.

Article II: Responsibilities of the Chief Justice

II.I: The Chief Justice shall have the duties of presiding over the Court, delivering majority or dissenting opinions
II.II: The Chief Justice shall announce the results of trials, and to be recorded by the Press Minister.
II.III: If the Chief Justice is to appear on the ballot in an election for any position, the Chief Justice shall resign from the Court to maintain judicial independence.
II.IV: If the Chief Justice is found to have inaccurately given the results of a ruling, they may be impeached if done thrice

Article III: Enactment of the Amendment

III.I: This amendment shall take effect May 20th, 2026.
