UHOMP Amendment

20260523-0 \\ ??? words \\ Passed \\ No summary

SLSR Legislation Credit to u/BreezyBee7, u/Heavy\_Stomach\_7633, u/Bob-The15th, and the whole SLSR team for helping making this. Article I: A political simulation (polsim for short) is defined as a group of people who operate a mock government without sovereignty over a sovereign state. Article II: Any diplomat or foreign minister may not hold any high office in another political simulation. Article III: The Election Minister, Minister of Census, Referendum Minister, Map Census Minister, or any other future or current ministers with access to the voter codes cannot hold office in another political simulation. Article IV: In Section III, Article VII, it says, “Council members may not hold governmental positions in another subreddit. This is considered treason.” This article will be removed upon this bill’s passing. Article V: Council members who hold a high office in another polsim may not go on any diplomatic missions, and they must vote abstain on any treaties or deals between TG and any polsim they hold a high office in. Article VI: In Section IV, Article IX, it says, "The president may not hold a governmental position in another sub. This is considered treason.” The word "sub" will be replaced with "political simulation", and the word "treason" will be replaced with "political infidelity." Article VII: This amendment does NOT overrule the Treaty of Callens, and holding office in TG both and DoR will still be illegal. Article VII: Breaching Articles II, III, V, or VII is considered political infidelity, and can be punished with impeachment from the perpetrator's TeenGovernment position. My argument for this amendment: Who do you think would be more interested in TG: A UoR citizen whose hobbies are legislation and has a very good reputation in the UoR or a random r/Teenagers user who likes art and robotics? Probably the first guy. Other people in polsims would be exempt from holding office while also holding office in their own polsim(s) if this isn't to change. Some could have more experience than many TG members, because some (such as DoR) are older than TG, yet they would be pushed away. And funnily enough, the ones who are pushed away would actually have the most experience of their community by managing to get into government in their polsim. Multi-polsim users having high experience isn't just a theory, it has been proven to be true, best shown in Detom and Magma. Detom made the first constitution, and while it was heavily flawed, it set the baseline for the current reformed reformed constitution. He also made the human rights bill. Magma founded the USF, the 5th biggest party, with 7 members as of last census. These users impacted our society a lot, and they were in DoR as well. In second council, magma mentioned also being in the DoR's form of council. If he had been a bit later, he would be forced to resign from one. Plus calling it treason doesn't even make sense, they simply have power in multiple places. Yes, there are limits, as with everything. President, too far up, foreign ministers and diplomats, pretty obvious, they can't make a treaty with themselves. For the voter code ministers, that was a compromise, but there is some reason in it. Plus this whole thing needs a bit of a reform, when we first made the law we said "subreddit" so technically Bob or some other member of government could hold office in DoD or some other non-Reddit polsim. Oh and even in the council members, there are limits, can't go on diplomatic missions, and they have to vote abstain on treaties and deals with the polsim they also hold office in, for obvious reasons. And no, this doesn't overrule the Treaty of Callens.
