SLSR Legislation Credit to Breezy for the idea, Tricky for helping with planning, and the whole SLSR team for working on this. Now, here goes: The Judicial Ethics and Recusal Act Preamble: In light of recent observations that the process of choosing judges should there not be enough unaffiliated with the case is in need of reform, and that language surrounding the eligibility of potential jurors affiliated with the case is vague, this amendment aims to resolve these issues and provide clear grounding for future judicial activities. 1. In the event that all but three or less justices are recused, pursuant to the Judicial Recusal and Ethics Act, the President can nominate as few as two or as many as the amount required for a full court as special temporary justices. The nomination must receive a supermajority of votes in Council, as well as vice presidential approval. 2. A special temporary justice will serve while the case is ongoing, and will be relieved of their duties after the case’s resolution. They may also recuse themselves if required. 3. Citizens who are involved or associated with a case are ineligible to be made jurors for said case. --- Thank you to everyone who helped in this bill’s creation.
